About FootyMath

FootyMath turns football results into probabilities and shows openly how well they work.

Who we are

FootyMath is a project of Semalt, an SEO and search analytics company founded in 2013 and headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine. Semalt has more than 120 people, offices across Europe and South America, and has been featured in Forbes and Entrepreneur. Working with large volumes of data is what Semalt does every day; FootyMath applies that to the question football fans ask most: who is likely to win.

The model, the site and the track record are built and maintained by the Semalt team. Match results and fixtures come from the SportAPI football data API.

Editorial policy

  • Model, not opinion. Every probability on the site comes from the published method on how it works. Nobody picks or edits individual predictions by hand.
  • Frozen before kick-off. Predictions are stored when a match starts and checked against the result afterwards. The track record includes every match, wins and misses alike.
  • Independent. We are not paid by bookmakers for picks, and no prediction is changed for commercial reasons. If we ever add partner links, they will be clearly marked and will not affect the numbers.
  • Honest about limits. We publish what the model cannot see and where it is weak, and we label predictions that were calculated after a match.
  • Corrections. If a fixture, result or team name is wrong, tell us and we fix it as soon as we can. Data errors that affected a frozen prediction are noted on the match page rather than silently changed.

What we do not do

We do not sell tips, run a paid tipster service or promise profits. The site is for adults; see responsible gambling.
