How the free betting simulator works

FootyMath's free betting simulator lets you practise football betting without risking a penny: real fixtures, real bookmaker odds, real results, and virtual money only. It works like a real online sportsbook, with play money: a sportsbook simulator for practice betting, with nothing to pay and nothing to deposit.

1. Sign in with Google. You get $100 of virtual money every week; the week runs from Tuesday to Monday, so it covers a full weekend of football.
2. Tap the odds of the outcomes you like: 1 is a home win, X a draw, 2 an away win. Matches of the next seven days are open for betting until kick-off.
3. Choose singles (a separate stake on every match) or an accumulator (one stake on 2 to 10 matches, all of which must come in; the odds multiply).
4. After the matches your bets are settled automatically from the real results, usually within an hour of full time. Postponed matches are void: a single returns its stake, an accumulator continues without that match.

You against the model

Every bet you place is also played by the FootyMath model: the same matches, the same stake, but with the outcome the model rates most likely. My bets shows both results side by side, and the leaderboard shows how all players did against the model that week. It is a simple way to find out whether your football knowledge beats a statistical model that only sees results and shots on target.

Weekly leaderboard

Players are ranked by profit for the week: everything returned minus everything staked. Only bets whose matches are over count. The leaderboard shows nicknames only; you can change yours at any time.

Virtual money only

The simulator is a free game for people aged 18 and over. Nothing can be deposited, won or withdrawn, and the odds are for information only. It is not an invitation to gamble; read our responsible gambling page and the privacy policy.
